Thanks for sharing your insight. I grew up in Milwaukee, visited Chicago a handful of times, but honestly don't know much about the city at all... Not even media depictions of it, since I don't consume much popular media.
I've never been to Chicago but have always heard several opinions of it. Like the area I come from some people make it sound like an old or new gangster town and it can be but there are those hard working people there too that are just trying to make it and get their kids through school. I feel as though there are too many cracks for the poor kids to fall in to survive and become a part of the ones crushed by the system.
Chicago is tragically beautiful. We got angels and demons both, often commiserating in the same dive bar. Thanks for the honesty. Honestly, I think a lot of those folks on the north side hang blm signs bc they're afraid of bein robbed. I could be wrong
